John Durham grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and moved to Richmond in 2002. He arrived on a Greyhound bus with a duffel bag and excitement for a new adventure. John immediately began an apprenticeship with his uncle, who is a carpenter and building contractor, and quickly discovered his own passion for the trade.

John spent 8 years gaining carpentry and construction experience learning the trade in the Richmond area. He had ambitions for more though and started his own company as a licensed building contractor in 2010. Since then, John Durham Carpentry has completed hundreds of projects including home renovations, remodels, additions and select commercial build outs.

John is passionate about providing an exceptional finished product and superior client service. He is on-site for every project to ensure each detail is executed to perfection. John’s approach and high standards are why many clients have become repeat customers.

John has a personal love for modern design, but also appreciates the diverse architectural variety of homes around Richmond. John lives in Bon Air with his family and enjoys volleyball and fly fishing in his spare time.
